"Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness." —Oprah
When you think of yourself, do you imagine you are royalty?
When I read that quote by Oprah, I immediately started getting an image in my head of how I see a queen and thought to myself, " What does a queen represent to me?" I see her as courageous, revered, respected and powerful yet feminine, beautiful and gentle. She takes time for long baths, wears clothing that makes her feel majestic and sleeps in a bed that has just the perfect amount of softness and luxury. A queen is also a noble matriarch of her family. Sometimes this queen can look like a look like the lead singer on her own stage, hair blowing in the wind and voice so mesmerizing you can't help but be drawn to her (Think Beyoncé), and sometimes this queen can roll out of bed at the crack of dawn to make sure and have her own cup of tea before walking the dog, getting the kids dressed and ready for school all the while making sure to get in that inspirational podcast during the 15 min car ride she has to the grocery store because she knows how to maximize her time so well others wonder, how does she stay so grounded?!
I just finished binge watching The Crown on Netflix and I was reminded that yes, people treat a queen a certain way, however not just anyone can be the queen. Her whole life was centred around becoming the person she is today. She had to embody what it takes to be the queen. She had do think like a queen, act like a queen and treat herself like she was the queen, from a very early age. If you were to imagine your own version of what makes a queen, what would she look like? How would she act? How does she deserve to be treated?
Are you taking the time out to treat yourself with reverence? Do you look in the mirror and see greatness? If not, maybe today is the day to start to see yourself as worthy of being the queen of your own life. What is one thing you can to do today that would make you feel like royalty?
