What is Holistic?

ho·lis·tic

hōˈlistik/

adjective

PHILOSOPHY

  1. characterized by comprehension of the parts of something as intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole.

  • MEDICINE

characterized by the treatment of the whole person, taking into account mental and social factors, rather than just the physical symptoms of a disease.

Why do I call myself a Holistic Counsellor & Coach? From my experience, if we don't look at all parts of what makes up a person; their physical body, their emotions/feelings, their spiritual self and their intellectual/thought processes we tend to feel off balance. I like to integrate all parts of this into my sessions with clients.

I am especially curious about the connection to our physical bodies and to our spiritual selves. I found that my body held onto so many messages over the years and I realized it was linked to most of the chronic pain I was having. Once I gave voice to that pain, my body shifted and is still shifting! I also love exploring different belief systems and uncovering the deeper meaning in someone's life. Our spiritual self can simply mean our life purpose or our calling and it can also mean what we believe in, such as where we hold our moral compass.

I love helping clients connect their mind, heart, spirit and body into an ever changing yet balanced whole human being!
